A squad of troops were stationed around a firepit, keeping warm while unaware of the dangers around them. Silent steps in the darkness were able to walk around without anyone noticing, while being close enough to make out the detail of the soldiers keeping warm during the frosty night. The soldiers could be seen sharpening their swords, oiling their gear, and the one soldier being remarked for not shaving that morning.
More footsteps made a slow advanced into the camp, surrounding any exit or chance of an early warning. No one knew who the steps belonged to, all they'll know is the damage caused. And that it comes from the shadows. |
